DEATH FIGHTERS

Overview

Death Fighters EMS MC is a non-profit emergency medical services motorcycle club, established in 2006, with its Mother Chapter in Dubai, UAE. Its elected officers are the President, Vice President — Dubai, Vice President — Nomads, Secretary and Treasurer. The Road Captain and Sergeant at Arms are also elected positions but are not Club officers. The current officer term runs from 2025–2030.

Membership note: All members and prospects must be serving or former Emergency Medical Services personnel, First Responders, Military Medics, Fire Service or Police Medics, or work or have worked in a hospital-based medical role. All must be in good standing — no exceptions. See the Membership Qualifications & Prospects section for further detail.

President

The executive duties of the president are as follows:

1. To preside over meetings of both the Executive Board and the club as a whole.
2. To judge items not covered in the constitution or in the rules and regulations.
3. The office of President carries the authority to decide matters not covered by the Constitution.
4. To act as the Club's representative in public relations, as a liaison with local law-enforcement agencies and as the principal link between Death Fighters EMS MC and other motorcycle clubs where appropriate.
5. To represent the Club in all external Club business.
6. To assist Death Fighters officers in interpreting their Club responsibilities and to promote Club life among the membership.

Vice President(s)

The executive duties of the vice presidents are:

1. To assume the responsibilities of the President when he is unable to carry out his duties because of illness, injury or any other reason accepted by the remaining members of the Executive Board.
2. To act as a link between Death Fighters EMS MC and other local motorcycle clubs.
3. As resolved by Club vote on 5 June 2023, the serving Vice President was given responsibility for all Nomads worldwide, granted Nomad status and appointed Vice President — Nomads. A new Vice President — Dubai was then elected for the Mother Chapter.
4. Clause 3 remains valid until 4 June 2028, when it will be reviewed unless there is good reason to review it sooner.
5. Death Fighters EMS MC therefore has two Vice Presidents — VP Nomads and VP Dubai — who hold equal standing within the Club.

Secretary

The executive duties of the secretary are as follows:

1. To record and safeguard the minutes of Club meetings, whether held in person or via Zoom.
2. To maintain the Club Constitution and record all additions, deletions and amendments.
3. To manage Club correspondence.

Treasurer

The executive duties of the treasurer are as follows:

1. To monitor and record the Club's income and expenditure.
2. To collect dues from full-patch members and prospects.

Road Captain

The executive duties of the road captain are as follows:

1. To plan routes and organise the Club's itinerary before a run or tour.
2. To lead the Club in formation during runs and tours.
3. To teach and enforce the Club's group-riding rules and procedures, including the minimum safety equipment required on Club rides: a DOT-approved helmet, riding gloves, riding boots and Colours.

Sergeant at Arms

The executive duties of the sergeant at arms are as follows:

1. To maintain order at Club meetings and during Club activities.
2. To ensure that members comply with Club rulings, policies, bylaws and expected standards of conduct when dealing with the public, MCs, MCCs and other clubs.
3. The current Sergeant at Arms is a Dubai Police medic. As permitting a police officer to hold Club office is non-traditional, his appointment required approval at an additional EGM.

Election of Officers and Non-Exec Officers

Club officers serve a five-year term. Elections are held at the final regular meeting of the fifth year, in November.

1. To be eligible for office, a patch holder must have been an active member in good standing for at least one year.
2. Patch holders who wish to stand for a particular position may campaign informally for one month before the election.
3. Electioneering is conducted face to face. A Nomad may campaign through electronic communication, provided that his Nomad status was approved in a previous year.
4. A prospective candidate may approach members, state the office for which he is willing to stand if nominated, seek their views on his suitability and ask for their support.
5. All officers may stand again and may be re-elected to the same office or elected to another position.

Meetings

1. One organised meeting will be held every two months.
2. Decisions are made by majority vote unless these bylaws require a higher threshold.
3. If a vote is taken at a meeting and a member is not present either in person in Dubai or via Zoom, his vote is void.
4. Only approved full-patch Nomads may attend meetings via Zoom or telephone. Every Nomad must nevertheless attend at least one meeting in person in Dubai every two years; this interval remains under review.
5. Meetings are closed, except where prospective members are permitted to attend.
6. Meetings will be conducted on a parliamentary basis. A member may be removed from a meeting for unruly conduct.
7. The quorum for a meeting is 60% of the membership and 80% for membership votes.
8. Members will attend meetings on their motorcycles when the weather is favourable, unless a motorcycle is broken down or otherwise unavailable. When the Club calls a ride or meeting, all members are expected to attend. Work, illness or an unserviceable motorcycle will be accepted as an excuse.
9. Members must have colours with them when attending meetings.
10. If a member attends a meeting without his Colours and the Sergeant at Arms takes issue, the member will be fined.
11. There will be absolutely no alcohol to be consumed during meetings held within the UAE.
12. During a meeting, members will not speak until the President gives them the floor. If the Sergeant at Arms is absent, another person will be appointed to maintain order, and anyone who does not comply may be removed from the meeting.
13. Miss four meetings in a row, whether in person or via Zoom, and you're out of the Club.
14. A Nomad who misses the required two-yearly in-person meeting without good cause will also have his membership terminated.
15. Any member or prospect who misses a meeting without good cause approved by the President or a Vice President will be fined AED 500. Hospital admission or being away from Dubai for an extended period will be accepted as good cause. The attendance requirement is waived during periods when the outside temperature exceeds 40°C and during the holy month of Ramadan.
16. A member who wishes to leave the Club must attend a meeting and return his Colours and every item bearing the Death Fighters name. There is no exception for Nomads.
17. If a member is expelled or leaves without attending a meeting, he forfeits his Colours. The Sergeant at Arms will contact the former member to arrange the return of all Club Colours.
18. For a Nomad, the Vice President — Nomads may act on behalf of the Sergeant at Arms under clause 17.

Membership Qualifications & Prospects

1. All members and prospects must be serving or former Emergency Medical Services personnel, First Responders, Military Medics, Fire Service or Police Medics, or work or have worked in a hospital-based medical role. All must be in good standing — no exceptions.
2. A prospect must own a road-legal motorcycle of at least 600 cc.
3. A prospect must be at least 25 years old. An exception may be approved by Club vote.
4. A prospect must demonstrate a genuine interest in the Club and motorcycles.
5. A prospect must be sponsored by a member who has known him for at least one year. This requirement may be waived by Club vote.
6. The sponsor is responsible for the prospect.
7. Prospect will wear a DEATH FIGHTERS front flash and Prospect bottom rocker.
8. A sponsor may pull a prospect's rocker at his discretion.
9. Prospects must attend all meetings and Club functions. A person prospecting as a Nomad under a Nomad sponsor must ride with that sponsor whenever required.
10. A prospect must carry out any instruction from a member, provided that the member has done, or would be willing to do, the same task himself.
11. A prospect will stand behind the Club and its members.
12. No member may steal from a prospect.
13. A prospect must ride his motorcycle to the meeting at which the Club votes on his full membership.
14. A prospect must pay AED 1,000 for his Colours before receiving them. This covers AED 800 for the patches and AED 200 for the first month's dues. The payment is non-refundable.
15. Prospective members must be voted in. Two “no” votes result in rejection. A single “no” vote must be explained.
16. The length of a prospective member's prospecting period is at the discretion of the sponsor and the Club.
17. Every full-patch member must vote before a prospect can receive his full patch. The vote must be unanimous.
18. Only the sponsor or a Club officer may present a patch to a prospect.

Rules and Regulations

The Club's rules will be enforced. Any breach will be dealt with by the Executive Board. Breach of any of the following rules is grounds for immediate expulsion from the Club.

1. Failure to pay dues in accordance with the Dues and Loans section.
2. No “hype” — no illicit intravenous drug use — and no use of illegal drugs in any form.
3. There will be no stealing among members. Any member found stealing will be expelled from the Club.
4. If a patch holder or prospect throws down his Colours or leaves the Club, his Colours will be pulled.
5. Members may not belong to any other motorcycle club.
6. If a group or individual attacks a member, the whole Club will stand behind him and defend him if necessary. If, however, the member is drunk, aggressive or deliberately starts an argument, the other members will remove him from the situation or intervene before trouble begins.
7. No member will bring the Club into disrepute.
8. No member will deliberately damage Club property.
9. Every member is expected to help his brothers and may expect the same support in return.
10. No member will act against a decision properly voted upon and passed by the Club.
11. Members will not form a separate group or make private plans during Club rides. Any proposed activity must be raised with the whole Club, and all members will participate in whatever is agreed.
12. The Club will remain together during rides, runs, parties, field meets and other Club activities. A member may leave the main group only after notifying the President or the person in charge. When the majority decides it is time to leave, the Club will leave together. Anyone who remains behind for good reason does so at his own risk and cannot expect Club support.
13. The exception to rule 12 is when a member identifies a medical emergency and must respond.
14. Members are expected to maintain good attendance. Acceptable reasons for missing meetings or rides include work, illness, lack of transport or an unserviceable motorcycle.
15. All members must meet the EMS or other eligible medical-service requirements set out in Membership Qualifications & Prospects, clause 1.

General Rules I (SOP)

Any breach of the general rules will be dealt with by the Executive Board.

1. Do as you say or walk the line.
2. A Death Fighter who loses the privilege of wearing Colours will also lose the right to vote or take part in decisions concerning prospects.
3. The Treasurer will maintain a clear record of all money received and paid out, balance the records before every meeting and review the accounts monthly.
4. All Club fines must be paid to the Treasurer within 30 days.
5. The full membership will vote on the destinations of Club rides. Rule 6 applies when supporting another club's ride.
6. Supporting another club's ride, normally as Nomads, requires prior notice by email to nomads@deathfightersmc.club.
7. Every patch holder and prospect must maintain a valid driving licence authorising him to ride a motorcycle.
8. If a member is unable to ride on the road for an extended period, including because his licence has been suspended, or is temporarily without a motorcycle, he will surrender his patch. The patch will be returned when he is back on the road.
9. If a member's motorcycle remains unserviceable for 60 days without good reason, such as hospital admission, his Colours will be withdrawn. To be exempt from this rule, the motorcycle must remain serviceable for at least one full week, not merely be made to run briefly. This is a MOTORCYCLE CLUB!
10. Every new patch holder requires a confirmation vote at the six-month point. The vote must be unanimous among all members in good standing.
11. Club business must not be discussed with anyone outside the Club, except when explaining the Club's approved goals, values and aims.
12. If a member is told that he is too intoxicated to ride or drive, he will hand his keys to a brother. The member and his vehicle will be looked after.
13. If the Road Captain or a Club officer determines that a motorcycle is unsafe to ride, its rider is grounded until the motorcycle is safe.
14. During funeral runs, no member will carry a passenger or “backpack”; Club patches must remain visible.
15. A prospect will watch the motorcycles at Club functions, and at any other time the senior member present considers it necessary.

General Rules II — Medical Kit

As an EMS MC, the following rules are non-negotiable:

1. Every ride must have a designated “Tail End Charlie”, who must carry a Basic Life Support (BLS) kit and a basic trauma kit.
2. At least one member on each ride should also carry an automated external defibrillator (AED).
3. Members riding in support of another club must carry a BLS kit, trauma kit and AED on their motorcycle. We ride to provide support.
4. We ride to provide basic medical assistance at the scene of a road incident.
5. Members are advised to mark the pannier containing their medical equipment so that it can be found quickly, including if the member carrying it is injured.
6. For advice or training on the minimum equipment to be carried, speak to a Vice President.
7. Death Fighters EMS MC will run an annual “Rider Down” first-aid course in Dubai and may, with approval, deliver the course in other locations.
8. Continuing professional development courses may also be delivered to members during the year when needed and approved by the Executive Board.
9. Above all, we are brothers and medics and will help fallen riders. Any member who passes a collision without stopping to offer assistance will be required to explain his actions to the membership.

Dues and Loans

1. Monthly Club dues are payable by the first day of each month.
2. Dues may not remain unpaid for more than two months.
3. Dues are AED 200 per month or AED 2,000 per year.
4. Monthly dues of AED 200 are payable by direct debit or in cash.
5. Annual dues of AED 2,000 are payable on 1 November.
6. A member who fails to pay his dues will be suspended and must surrender his Colours.
7. If the dues remain unpaid after two months, the Colours will be forfeited against the debt and the person will no longer be a member.
8. Any loan must be approved by the Executive Board, and the member must offer his motorcycle as security.

Respect

1. Respect must be shown to all Club members and officers, and to their motorcycles, partners (Ol' Ladies), homes, work and property. In simple terms: if it is not yours, do not interfere with it.
2. Respect your Colours at all times and ensure that others treat them with respect.
3. There will be no stealing from members, other clubs or the public.
4. Fighting is not permitted. As an EMS MC, we avoid trouble and defend ourselves only when necessary.

Colours / Colors

1. The President will obtain all Colours solely from the approved in-house supplier. All Colours must be issued through Dubai, including those for Nomads.
2. When a member leaves the Club, he will return his Colours to the President.
3. Respect your Colours. Do not allow anyone to take them from you except the President of the chapter.
4. Colours will not be worn in a cage, except during funerals or while loading or unloading a motorcycle from a truck.
5. No hippie shit on the front.
6. Nothing may be worn on the back of a vest or jacket except Club Colours, with the exception of one or more national flags measuring no more than 40 mm × 70 mm. These flags are permitted only for veterans of the relevant countries' armed forces and must be worn above the Colours at the collar line.
7. A national flag must be worn at the top right on the front of the Colours. It may be attached by hook-and-loop fastening and changed to show the member's national affiliation.
8. Colours must be worn whenever riding or attending Club functions. Only a brother or the member's Ol' Lady may hold or look after his Colours.
9. A Death Fighters member may retire and retain his patches only with the authorisation of a Club officer. Eligibility requires either 10 years of patched service, or one full four-year term as an officer plus five years as a member, making nine years in total. Note: Retired Colours are keepsakes for display and must not be worn while riding.
10. A Nomad wearing a NOMAD front patch and/or Nomad side rocker must, under these bylaws, wear a “Pass Pin” through or near the Nomad patch.
11. A member may wear military insignia on the front only if he can provide evidence of military service and the item has been approved in advance by the Executive Board.
12. No patch or pin may be worn on Death Fighters Colours if it could place the Club at risk or bring adverse attention from the police in Dubai or another country.
13. No member may ride as a ghost without good reason and prior approval, except as specifically permitted for safety under the Nomads section.
14. Side rockers must be approved in advance by the Executive Board. The only side rockers currently authorised are: DUBAI, ABU DHABI, DOCTOR, PARAMEDIC, NURSE, EMT, NOMAD EMT and NOMAD.
15. Get-back whips: Death Fighters EMS MC members are advised to fly a blue-and-white get-back whip while riding, subject always to local law and safety.
16. The official Club colourway remains Blue & White. The Mother Chapter in Dubai will continue to wear Blue & White.
17. Death Fighters EMS MC Nomads may wear either the traditional Blue & White colourway or the Club-approved Black & White Nomads colourway. Both are official Death Fighters EMS MC Colours and represent the same Club.
18. Each Nomad may choose either approved colourway, taking account of local circumstances, the local MC environment, personal preference and safety. Safety is paramount.
19. The Black & White Nomads colourway does not represent a separate chapter, faction, territorial claim or affiliation with another MC.
20. Where either approved colourway may create an unnecessary risk, a Nomad may wear the alternative approved colourway or ride as a ghost in accordance with the Nomads section of these bylaws.

Nomads

1. To be accepted as a Nomad within Death Fighters EMS MC, a member must be in good standing, be sponsored by the Vice President — Nomads and receive a 100% vote at the next Club meeting.
2. To be considered as a Nomad prospect, a person must have a Nomad sponsor, the support of the Vice President — Nomads or Vice President — Dubai, and meet the requirements in the Membership Qualifications & Prospects section.
3. Every Club Nomad will wear a Pass Pin through the NOMAD front patch.
4. A Nomad side rocker is optional, but the NOMAD front patch is compulsory.
5. Wherever possible, Nomads will contact the locally dominant MC in a country where they ride and seek approval to pass through or reside there.
6. Get-back whips: Nomads may remove their whips and ride with bare bars whenever flying a whip would be unsafe.
7. Nomads must not recruit in any country without the express permission of the Vice President — Nomads.
8. A Nomad may ride without his Colours — as a ghost — or, where appropriate, wear the alternative approved Nomads colourway if he reasonably believes his safety may be compromised in the area where he is riding or residing. Safety is paramount.

Partners of Members (Ol' Ladies)

We generally use the term partners, but Ol' Ladies is an established old-school MC term. Whichever term is used, the same rules apply.

1. Do not become involved with a brother's Ol' Lady. Doing so will result in immediate expulsion from the Club.
2. Property patches were discussed by all patch holders in 2020. The majority voted NO, recognising that the days of treating women as property have long since passed.
3. Members are responsible for their partners or Ol' Ladies while on Club business.
4. A member may have more than one Ol' Lady — this is the United Arab Emirates, after all.
5. A member must identify his Ol' Lady to those present.
6. Members may not discuss Club business with their Ol' Ladies.
7. Ol' Ladies are not permitted to attend Club meetings.
8. An Ol' Lady may attend unescorted only by prior arrangement with her Ol' Man.
9. A Death Fighters & Ol' Lady patch may be worn optionally. It must be worn on the front right only; rear patches are never permitted.
10. We are a family, and families look after one another. If a member's Ol' Lady or child is in trouble, every brother has a duty to assist as though they were his own family.

Transparency

1. We are a transparent Club: an Emergency Medical Services Motorcycle Club established to provide medical support to the wider motorcycle community during rides and events.
2. We are not affiliated with any other MC or MCC.
3. We are not an official support club for any single MC.
4. We are here to assist members of the motorcycle community when medical emergencies occur on or around the road.
5. We will not take sides in any conflict.
6. We do not and will never claim any location, area, territory or associated rights. We are an EMS motorcycle club providing medical support to the wider motorcycle community.
