First Ride of 2021: Back on the Road After Lockdown

First Ride of 2021

January 2021 brought cool morning air, quiet roads and, for the first time in months, the sight of the Dubai Mother Chapter forming up together.

The route led from Dubai along the desert highways towards Al Ain before turning back through the Hajar Mountains as the sun rose. The Club covered more than 200 kilometres.

What a Feeling

It is difficult to describe the feeling of riding in formation after a long absence: the sound of the engines, the synchronised movement through the bends and the unspoken communication between brothers on the road.

COVID-19 precautions remained in place. Visors stayed down, stops were kept brief and large gatherings were avoided. What mattered was that the Club was moving together again.

“It felt as though the Club had taken a deep breath and exhaled for the first time in a year.”

Further rides were planned throughout 2021. The calendar was filling and the brotherhood was back on the road.
